Jaxx hang on to sweep Thursday series against Pilots

Updated: Dec 6, 2019

Thursday -- Though the league is in it's inaugural season and doesn't have much history Thursday's game one between the Diamond Jaxx and Pilots is one that will be in the record books for a while.

It took the two teams just under one hour and a half to decide a winner. The Diamond Jaxx took the 11 inning affair with just a 1-0 win. It was Chuck O'Neils RBI in the top of the eleventh that drove home Allen which ended up being the game winner after a three up three down bottom half of the inning for the Pilots.

Matty O'Neil stole the show tonight pitching 11 shutout innings and allowing just 12 hits, and completing the game with 20 strikeouts. Though his batting was at an unusually rough 1-8 he was the big reason the Jaxx walked away with the win.

Vahey was just as good for the Pilots pitching as he too pitched all 11 innings and allowed just one run. Though he only struck out two batters he pitched the perfect pitches to allow his fielders to make some easy and some sensational plays in the field, Including highlight catches from Devyn Phillips.

Game two started as the sun went down and just two innings were played. The Jaxx barely snuck by the Pilots bottom second bases loaded, but Allen struck-out Phillips to help the Jaxx win and lift them to 5-5 on the season.
