Monday -- We are approaching the halfway mark of our 2020 season, we take a look at current notable unsigned players by each team, as well as we will explain our player signing rule in depth.
This past season we welcomed in five new teams; Black Widows, Hooligans, Mariners, Inglorious Batters and Screwballs, which all have top league talent on their rosters... but not embedded just yet.
Every season our "Free Agency" begins on September 1. This means all teams must sign back no more than three (3) players from their team by August 31. Each team manager is issued three player contracts. They have options with what they do with them. A team manager is automatically signed for two years from the date of founding or becoming manager of the team; they are not included in the three contracts.
Option A: A team manager can sign back three pending team free agents and must do so by August 31. If they elect to use all three contracts they will have three-draft picks for that years draft allowing to fill a roster maximum of seven (7).
Option B: The team manager may decide to use none or less than all three player contracts. This will allow them to use these contracts on pending league-wide free agents beginning September 1. They may use these contracts to sign players who were not on their team the previous season.
Option C: They may elect to use none or less than all three issued contracts and receive draft picks for the "optional rounds" in the league-wide Player Draft.
Players who are pending free agents may elect to sign a contract with a team that offers them one. Or elect to enter the years player draft.
