Partnership dealt with local league

Updated: Dec 6, 2019

Saturday -- As of today the league has completed a 'verbal' partnership with the long existed Backyard Wiffle Ball League of Tewksbury.

The league founded just minutes down I-95 in Tewksbury, Mass has been around since throwing it's first pitch in 2009. The highly liked league will allow the NWBL to grow as well as allowing more games to be played.

The two leagues will not merge as of 2020 but will play exhibition and preseason games against each-other as well as playing and end of season All Star Tournament.

League commissioner Marescalchi had spoken with the Tewksbury league owner Matt Cahill,

"I texted Matt hoping for a deal that leaves both of our leagues in our control but to grow together... and within minutes he answered."

One thing in common between Cahill's long existed league and Marescalchi's new league was the amount of college students who played in it, and together both agreed a merger wasn't in our best interest as having to many students who may be completing new internships would cause to many scheduling conflicts.
