Brewers have surprising sweep over Widows

Tuesday -- The Brewers pulled off a surprising two game series sweep over the Widows on Tuesday night.

Game on was a comeback win for the Brewers. The Black Widows took a four-run lead following a grand-slam from fifteen year old Dougie Baker. But the Brewers did not wait long to regain the lead with a five-run second inning that came from costly walks thrown by Lopes. The Brewers added two insurance runs in the third to secure the 8-4 win over the Widows in game one.

Game two was much closer in scoring. The Widows started the game off with an early lead yet again, but like game one the Brewers had a dominant second inning that scored the three runs; the end result would be a Brewers 4-3 win.

The Brewers unfortunately did not move up in the standings but was a must win series following a sweep to the Diamond Jaxx on last Sunday. The National League standings are much closer as every team is still in a hunt for first place.
