A Look Ahead

Updated: Jun 17, 2020

Friday -- We have a great set of series for the second week of the 2020 season.

After a longer offseason than usual we have completed our first week of the season following a very competitive series between the Brewers and Screwballs Thursday evening. Now that every team has played we can begin to project season outlooks for the remainder of the season. Sunday will feature three games all inter-division, and on Wednesday we have our first 'Game of the Week' between two powerhouses; Hooligans and Screwballs.

Our first series on Sunday is between the Diamond Jaxx and expansion team the Inglorious Batters. The Jaxx are coming off a series split against the Mallards and the Batters are looking to rebound after a 0-2 series loss to the Screwballs; allowing 21 runs in the two-game home and home.

The Black Widows and Mallards is definitely a game to tune into. The two National League teams are among the many projections to play for the National League title later this season. The Widows four-man roster has all the pieces needed in a Championship team. Without Matt King the Mallards find themselves in a pitching absence but after acquiring Alexander Marcoux Thursday night they hope to balance out their defensive weakness with a strong offense.

At 5:15 we see an American League matchup between the Hooligans (1-1) visiting the Mariners (0-2). Though the Mariners dropped their Opening series against the Brewers; they look to Bryan Davidson to continue his pitching performance he had coming into the series against the Brewers, allowing just three runs. The Hooligans though are projected to sweep the series and take the no. 1 spot in the A.L.

Wednesday night we feature the 'Game of the Week' between the Hooligans and Screwballs. This is one you will not want to miss as two power-house clubs will go head to head. Both teams should be 3-1 entering Wednesday night making this series a play for the top spot in the American League.

All games will be live-streamed via Youtube by Series. Tune into the "Northeast Wiffle Ball League" on Youtube to watch!
